Fred Van Lente is the #1 New York Times bestselling, award-winning writer of comics like Archer & Armstrong (Harvey Award nominee, Best Series), Action Philosophers! (American Library Association Best Graphic Novel for Teens), and Cowboys & Aliens(with Andrew Foley), the basis for the feature film. In 2017 Van Lente branched into the world of prose with his debut novel, the stand-up murder mystery Ten Dead Comedians. His follow-up novel, The Con Artist, a “geek noir” about murder at San Diego Comic Con, debuted in 2018. His many other comics and graphic novels include Weird Detective, The Comic Book History of Comics, The Incredible Hercules (with Greg Pak), Ivar, Timewalker, Marvel Zombies and The Amazing Spider-Man. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, the playwright Crystal Skillman, and some mostly ungrateful cats. Fred loves hearing from readers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Billy Penn has been creating, penciling, writing, inking, coloring and lettering comics during every moment of spare time he has. While he has attended many conventions and stood in those long reviewing lines, his big break came in 2004 when he had the privilege to compete in Comic Book Resources’ Comic Book Idol 2. Even though he didn’t win the contest, he gained a lot of exposure and even did a side job for DC comics (which never saw the light of day). Since then, Billy has worked on a couple of books for Platinum Studios: Hotshot and Mighty Girl and Meet the Haunteds. His first published work was in late 2006 when he penciled and inked a back-up story in one of his all-time favorite comics, Savage Dragon (#130). When Billy isn’t working, watching super hero movies with his toddler son, painting murals and drawing portraits, he is living and breathing comics. Billy Penn lives in Tallahassee, Fl. with his wife and son.
Jason Embury: With more than 15 years of experience in the print, advertising, illustration and comic industries, the one thing that he has learned is that you are never done learning. Eager to expand his skill set and tackle new projects, he is always looking for a challenge, and for exciting properties to lend his talents to. Whether it’s comics, card art, concept art, digital painting, graphic design, or life coaching, he is sure to add an energetic approach to everything he does. He enjoys hot coffee, loud electronic music, a good guitar riff, chai lattes, late mornings, and even later nights. With the aid of his trusty sidekicks Tricia, Alainey and Christion, he fights a never-ending battle against the dreaded villains White Paper, and the ever elusive Blank Screen. Not to be thwarted, he revels in these daily battles, realizing that all true heroes need something to fight for.
